Hello! I'm Harman Walia, and I'm passionate about leveraging technology to create digital experiences that positively impact people's lives, the environment, and society as a whole. My journey began in Amritsar, India, where my insatiable curiosity, determination, and perseverance were instilled in me by my incredible parents.
When I moved to Canada to study at the University of British Columbia, I was captivated by the potential of technology to transform the world around us. During my breaks, I worked as a web developer and landed an internship as a data analyst at thisopenspace, a young startup. It was here that I developed a data dashboard for the company, only to discover that nobody was using it. Undeterred, I approached the CEO and proposed a solution: championing the user of data in decision-making. Thus began my serendipitous journey into the world of product management.
Over the past 5+ years, I've had the opportunity to build tech products in a variety of industries, from Marketplaces, SAAS to eCommerce. I've faced countless challenges, from reducing user churn by adding new product lines to helping a B2B startup find product-market fit. Today, I'm proud to be leading the Product and Technology team at AIIR Consulting and building tools that enhance the Coaching experience for our clients.
To me, product management is a problem-solving activity that requires a deep understanding of human behavior and psychology. The perfect product is more than just visual aesthetics and the right tech stack – it's an interface that helps users solve their problems with ease. I am currently leading the Product and Technology division at AIIR where we are building tools to enhance Coaching experience for our clients.
Worked as a Product Manager for various teams: Mobile, SR Path, Results and Category Management and solved unique problems at a huge scale.
Helped transition the company to eCommerce during the pandemic and developed processes for product, tech and execution.
My mandate here was to accelerate the speed of learning for the team to achieve product-market fit for Launchpad.
I worked directly with the CEO and my primary responsibility was to “reduce user churn & increase MAU”.
I was hired first as the data analyst, later transitioning into a product role and this is where I caught the bug of startups
